Fluid Lenses: The Next Big Thing?

Someone tell me this is not cool. According to a Yahoo! report, Philips has come up with a new technology that enables low end digital camera lenses to not require mechanical parts! Instead, they will rely on a fluid concept that is similar to that of the human eye. If you'd clicked on the link, it'll open the official press release from Philips. Methinks this technology opens up wondrous new possibilities for mobile camera applications. I, for one, am stoked.

Whoever thought electrodes and fluid would help us make mobile camera lenses?
